He spoke about two hadiths: (the man who borrowed a thousand dinars and then was struck in the sea) and (the man for whom Allah commanded the rain to water his land).

The Shaykh : The second thing I want to remind you of is two hadiths, because in my opinion, these two hadiths are excellent examples for establishing the meaning of "He will make for him a way out," establishing the meaning of "He will make for him a way out." People read this verse and do not feel its effect in their hearts. In some countries, like Syria, and here as well, some people put a sign on the wall written with
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out و من يتق الله يجعل له مخرجا
[At-Talaq 65:2]
. So they have adorned their walls with this verse, but their hearts are empty of it. These two hadiths confirm this meaning mentioned in the Qur'an. One of them is in Sahih al-Bukhari: "A man from before us came to a rich man and said to him: 'Lend me a thousand dinars.' He said: 'Bring a guarantor.' He said: 'Allah is the guarantor.' He said: 'Bring a witness.' He said: 'Allah is the witness.'" It seems that the matter wasThe student : and what was required of him was the same, and as it is said, "birds fall according to their kind," meaning they are of good hearts. He took this statement in good faith: Allah is the guarantor, Allah is the guarantor, Allah is the witness, Allah is the witness. And he lent him a thousand dinars, red dinars, and they agreed on the day of repayment. The man took the thousand dinars and went to the sea, striking out. It seems Allah the Exalted and Glorious granted him success in what he did with the thousand dinars, but the promised day, or the appointed day, caught up with him while he was far from the country of the generous benefactor. So he had no choice but to do an act that anyone who hears it would judge him as crazy or possessed. He took a piece of wood, carved it, packed the thousand dinars inside it, and stuffed it well. Then he came to the seashore. The man came to the seashore and said: "O Allah, You were the guarantor and You were the witness," and he threw the wood into the open sea. Madness has many forms, but this was a karamah (a miracle granted to a righteous person) for the man, which became clear later. The appointed day came, and the creditor went out to meet the debtor in vain; the debtor did not come. But Allah the Exalted and Glorious delivered the wood to the shore where he was standing, and the waves moved it before him. He stretched out his hands, and it was heavy. He took it to the house, broke it open, and there were a thousand dinars. He was amazed. Then the man returned to the debtor, greeted him until the end, and ignored what he had done because it was an unusual matter, not among the cosmic laws of Allah, which they call natural laws today, and it is not a normal system. So he ignored what he did and lent him a thousand dinars. The man now had two thousand. He had no choice, and this too was due to the purity of his soul, but to tell the debtor about the story of the wood. So the debtor did nothing but tell him the story, that he was the one who did this and relied on Allah the Exalted and Glorious, and addressed him saying: "You were the guarantor and You were the witness." He said: "Allah has paid off your debt for you, so may Allah bless you in your wealth," and he returned the thousand dinars to him. Here we take a lesson: this debtor, when he did what he did, did it only with very, very strong faith, relying on Allah the Exalted and Glorious to take charge of the repayment for him in a way he knew and He was capable of. And Allah the Exalted and Glorious, as came in the authentic hadith,
I am according to the good opinion My servant has of Me, so let him have of Me whatever he wishes. أنا عند حسن ظن عبدي بي فليظن بي ما شاء
Sunan ad-Darimi 20:27
. But this also requires faith. That rich man was pure. If he had kept the thousand dinars, no one could have exposed him at all, because it did not come to him by registered mail, and what do they call it, a return receipt?

The questioner : The recorder

The Shaykh : The recorder: No, there is absolutely nothing of that at that time, but he watches his Lord the Exalted and Glorious and knows that this wealth, since it came to him by an unusual path, there must be a secret. So he returned the thousand dinars and said: "Allah has paid off your debt for you." This is the interpretation of
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out و من يتق الله يجعل له مخرجا
[At-Talaq 65:2]
. The second hadith, and as I mentioned earlier, is in Sahih al-Bukhari. The second is in Sahih Muslim: A man said, peace be upon him:
While a man from those before you was walking in a desolate part of the land, he heard a voice from the clouds saying: "Water the land of so-and-so." بينما رجل في من قبلكم يمشي في فلات من الأرض إذ سمع صوتا من السحاب يقول: اسق أرض فلان
. This is a mu'jizah (a prophetic miracle) that has not happened in the history of the world, ever. The thing that caught his attention was that he found the cloud moving in one direction, so he moved with it until he found the cloud emptying its load of water onto a garden. He looked into it and found a man working in it. He greeted him by his name, and he was a stranger to that land. The man returned the greeting and was surprised at how he knew him. So he told him the story: "I was walking in the desert when I heard a voice from the cloud: 'Water the land of so-and-so.' So I walked with the cloud until I saw it emptying the water at your place. What is the reason for that?" He said: "By Allah, there is nothing with me except that I have this land, so I plant it, serve it, and harvest it. Then I make my harvest into three parts: one part I return to the land, one part I spend on myself and my family, and the other part I give in charity to my neighbors and the poor around me." He said to him: "That is it, that is it." Now, whoever truly and sincerely believes in Allah and His Messenger, if he takes the lawful means to preserve his wealth, do you think Allah will disappoint his hope in Him? Far be it from Allah! But where is this faith? I say, for example, there is no objection if a millionaire takes an iron room and puts guards around it with a good salary and pension, which is much better for him than depositing this money in banks that exploit it. And I wish they would exploit this money for their material benefit, but rather they strike the Muslims in their own homes. There is no doubt that this is better in religion and worldly life, because this man who took an iron room and placed what reassures him of guards and paid them wages, our Lord the Exalted and Glorious will bless him in his wealth. It is not like the one who deals in riba (usury or interest), whether he eats it or lends it; there is no difference between these. We all know the saying of the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) cursed the accepter of interest and its payer, and one who records it, and the two witnesses لعن الله آكل الربا و موكله و كاتبه و شاهديه
Sahih Muslim 1598
. And the truth is, this is among the cosmic laws of Allah, as the poet said long ago: "And what makes the fire great is but the small sparks." And as it is said: "The first of the rain is drops, then it pours down." Now, the Saudi countries, there is no difference between them and the other Arab countries where banks have spread as they have spread in all countries. There is no doubt that this spread has preliminaries from fatwas (scholarly legal rulings) that encourage this work. And the first encouragement is that you put your money, but do not take riba. And I wish they would call riba riba as Allah the Exalted and Glorious named it, but rather they call it what?

The questioner : The interest

The Shaykh : The interest: This is from Satan's deception of the children of Adam to commit the haram (forbidden), because this is interest. But as the Lord of the Worlds named it riba (usury or interest), or the Messenger, peace be upon him, they stay away from it because it repels them from engaging in these means. So if Allah blesses you, we must remember our religion and know the rulings of the Shari'ah (Islamic sacred law) of our Lord, and warn our brothers of the consequence of riba. And the consequence of riba, as he, peace be upon him, said:
To little. إلى قل
. To little, little, meaning yes.

The questioner : Little wealth, meaning

The Shaykh : Ah, meaning the wealth goes away from where it came, Allah does not bless it. It is the opposite of his saying, peace be upon him:
And wealth does not decrease by charity. و ما نقص مال من صدقة
. And what has been increased, I say now, quoting from that hadith, the consequence of riba is to little, and what has been increased by riba, rather its consequence is to little, if they only knew.

The questioner: May Allah bless you.

The Shaykh : Give me some water, yes.

The questioner : Shaykh, may Allah reward you. I had discussed, I mean, with eight people, and they are my colleagues, so I discussed with them on the same topic and proposed the same suggestion that you proposed, which is if the person is a millionaire, that he comes with a room and there is iron in it, and that the man deposits his money in this room, and I mean, as our fathers used to do, there were no banks for them in the past, but they used to deposit their gold in the tin.

The Shaykh : In secure places, I mean.

The questioner : Yes, and they put it in a corner, they had places in the wall. So I proposed this suggestion to them, but it was, I think, almost, I mean, something of my suggestion, as if it was something close to madness, I mean.

The Shaykh : Imagination, imagination for them.

The questioner : Yes, and otherwise, by Allah, I proposed to them the same suggestion.

The Shaykh: May Allah bless you.

The questioner : I said, this, may Allah reward you, O Shaykh, is only so that I may increase, I mean, certainly, as I am.

The Shaykh : May Allah reward you with good.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And I was, as if I am remembering now, that I strayed from what I intended to speak about regarding the completion of my words in Britain. So, to complete my words to you, my brothers, it is necessary that if you have any money, if you place it somewhere in the house where you are, it is necessary that you put a flag there and write on it, "Here is a buried treasure," so that you attract the attention of people, thieves, or the wicked, or robbers, and so on. My brother, bury your money and secure it in a secure place.

Another questioner : Peace be upon you and Allah's mercy.

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace, within the limits of your ability, and rely upon Allah.
