Among the mistakes of those who fast: Neglecting the prayer and performing it outside its prescribed time.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And among these is that some of the people who fast abstain from food and drink, and they also abstain from prayer. Abstaining from prayer means not praying. We have been informed that some people, when they eat their pre-dawn meal and fill their bellies with the bounty of Allah, sleep until the time for work arrives, if they have a job. Then they get up, wash their faces, go to work, and do not pray. And we hear that some people, after praying the dawn prayer, sleep until near the sunset prayer. Is this person truly fasting? This person has fasted from what Allah has made lawful, but he has not fasted from what Allah has forbidden. Indeed, neglecting the prayer and performing it outside its time is among misguidance and deviation. Allah the Exalted said:
(59) But there came after them successors who neglected prayer and pursued desires; so they are going to meet evil - (60) Except those who repent, believe and do righteousness; for those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged at all. فخلف من بعدهم خلف أضاعوا الصلاة واتبعوا الشهوات فسوف يلقون غياً إلا من تاب وآمن وعمل صالحاً فأولئك يدخلون الجنة ولا يظلمون شيئاً
[Maryam 19:59-60]
