Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : That her hair is characterized by curls, so she is sometimes compelled to perform certain customary procedures, namely wrapping the hair in small strands while it is wet, then winding it around rods, and after it dries, removing these rods so that the hair hangs down and the curls disappear. I would like to know if this procedure is forbidden because it is altering the creation of Allah, given that the hair returns to its natural state when exposed to water, meaning the curls disappear simply by taking a shower. Also, the wrapping process takes time, as the strands remain wound around these rods until the hair dries. The time for prayer may come while my hair is in this state, so I pray with my hair in this condition. Is the prayer valid, given that the hair is not hanging down, but rather each strand is wound around its specific rod, and the size of the head becomes large due to the presence of these rods? Furthermore, when performing wudu, I cover my head with a piece of cloth and wipe over it so that my hair is not affected or ruined by the water, relying on the statement of 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) "Whoever does not purify himself by wiping over the turban, may Allah not purify him". What is the guidance of the honorable Shaykh regarding this question?

The Shaykh : What I see is that it is not befitting for a woman to waste her time on such matters from which she gains nothing, except perhaps an illusory beauty for a specific period, which then disappears. In doing so, she loses a great deal of her time and loses money according to this medicine or this thing she has brought. So my advice to her is to leave such matters and turn to what benefits her in her religion and her worldly life, and not to burden herself with the hardship of these actions.
However, I cannot say that this is forbidden as long as she performs what is obligatory upon her, which is wiping the head directly without placing this handkerchief on it. As for what you mentioned about 'Umar, I do not know about it, but 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) is speaking about the turban, and there is no doubt that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wiped over his turban in his wudu. Wiping over the turban is among the prescribed matters established from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). As for this handkerchief placed on the head to protect it from water while using these tubes, it is not in the category of turbans at all.

The questioner : May Allah reward you. This is an Egyptian resident in the Kingdom who says.
