A Note on the Error of Naming the Stone the Stone of Isma'il (peace be upon him)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And by the way, I hear many people saying "the Stone of Isma'il, the Stone of Isma'il." Which Isma'il?
The student: The son of Ibrahim

The Shaykh : And Isma'il ibn Ibrahim (may the prayers and blessings of Allah be upon them both) knows nothing about this stone. The origin of this stone is "that when Quraysh wanted to build the Ka'bah, their funds were insufficient. They could only afford to build the Ka'bah on the foundations of Ibrahim, so they decided to leave a side of it out and enclose it, and for this reason it was called a stone". They enclosed it and built what they were able to build. Therefore, it is called the stone and it is called al-Hatim, with a mīm, because it is cut off from the house. And Isma'il knows nothing about this. And if we say it is the Stone of Isma'il, and it is not the Stone of Isma'il, then the implication of that is that we named it by a name other than its name. We named it by a name other than its name. Rather, we say it is the stone that was enclosed. By whom?
The student: Quraysh

The Shaykh : Quraysh, when they built the Ka'bah and their funds were insufficient.
