Issue: Pointing out the error in calling the stone the Stone of Isma'il.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Now, the second issue is less serious than the first, but it is still an error. We often hear people saying: "The Stone of Isma'il." Isma'il of whom?
The student: Ibn Ibrahim.

The Shaykh : Isma'il is the father of the Arabs, and he is the son of Ibrahim al-Khalil. However, I say that Isma'il did not know about this stone and was not aware of it. It was not part of his affairs nor part of its construction, because, as I told you, it only came into being in the time of Quraysh. Therefore, attributing it to Isma'il is a great error. It is not the stone of Isma'il. For this reason, this term is considered an error, and it is obligatory to correct this concept among people so that they do not use this term.
Some people said: It is called the Stone of Isma'il because Isma'il was buried under the spout. This is worse than the first claim. How could Isma'il be buried under the spout when there was no spout in the time of Isma'il? Where was the spout in the time of Isma'il?
The student: It was...

The Shaykh : It is not in this location. Rather, it is either to the north, east, west, or south of it, because in the time of Isma'il, this area was in the middle of the Ka'bah, and spouts are located on the roofs of buildings, not in the middle of a building. How could Isma'il be buried under the spout?!
And far be it from Allah that the qiblah of the Muslims should be a grave. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Do not pray toward graves لا تصلوا إلى القبور
Sunan an-Nasa'i 760Sahih (Darussalam)
This claim is one of the most false claims on the face of the earth, that Isma'il was buried in the stone.
