Explaining that the Noble Qur'an has clarified everything people need in their worldly life and their hereafter, whether by explicit text, generality, indication, or alerting, along with

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This Noble Qur'an, we said, is the best book revealed to the best prophet sent. May Allah make it good. This Noble Qur'an is the most comprehensive book revealed from the heavenly books, because it encompasses everything people need in their worldly life and their hereafter. So whatever people need in their worldly life, meaning in this world, and in their hereafter, meaning in the Hereafter, it is mentioned in the Qur'an. But its mention may be by explicit text, it may be by generalization, and it may be by indication and alerting. So it is not necessary, when we say that the Qur'an has clarified everything people need in their worldly life and their hereafter, that every issue and every case be mentioned specifically in the Noble Qur'an. Let us look at an example from the cosmic matters and a legal example containing a generality that is suitable for everything that can fall under this generality. The brother explains to us the verse regarding cosmic matters. Yes, yes, I know that you did not understand it, but I want you to pay attention and have your heart present with your body. Rest. Allah the Exalted said:
And [He created] the horses, mules and donkeys for you to ride and [as] adornment. And He creates that which you do not know.
[An-Nahl 16:8]
This phrase
And He creates that which you do not know.
[An-Nahl 16:8]
includes everything that can happen, indeed everything that happens of what people ride and adorn themselves with. So if we find cars, jet planes, helicopters, and others, they are included in this verse:
And He creates that which you do not know.
[An-Nahl 16:8]
And things more severe than what we have seen now will also happen, of what Allah Mighty and Majestic creates of vehicles that people ride and adorn themselves with
And [He created] the horses, mules and donkeys for you to ride and [as] adornment. And He creates that which you do not know.
[An-Nahl 16:8]
As for legal matters, Allah Blessed and Exalted is He said:
And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things and as guidance and mercy and good tidings for the Muslims.
[An-Nahl 16:89]
So this verse is a clarification of every thing; nothing from the matters of the Shari'ah is exempt from it but it is clarified. But as I told you, it may be by way of detail, it may be by way of summary and generality, and it may be by way of indication and alerting. It is mentioned that some of the people of knowledge gathered with a Christian man in a restaurant, and this Christian said to the Muslim scholar, "Your book says:
And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things
[An-Nahl 16:89]
Is there in your book a clarification of how this food is made? What do we say? Is there in the Noble Book a clarification of how to make soup, stew, meat, and the like? No, and the Noble Qur'an is not a kitchen manual to detail these things. So the scholar said, "This is found in the Book of Allah." Then he called for the owner of the restaurant and asked him how he makes this food. The owner of the restaurant explained to them how he makes this food. So the scholar said, "This is how it came in the Qur'an." Who said it? The Muslim scholar. So he said, "Where is it?" He said, "Allah says:
So ask the people of the message if you do not know.
[An-Nahl 16:43]
So in this is guidance that the thing you do not know, you should ask the people of knowledge about it. So if you are ignorant of the ruling of a legal issue, whom do I ask? The scholars of the Shari'ah. And a man asks about a hidden matter of building engineering, whom does he ask? The building engineer. And a man is confused by a matter relating to astronomy, whom does he ask? The scholars of astronomy. Each one asks according to his specialty. Where do we take this from in the Book of Allah? From His saying:
So ask the people of the message if you do not know.
[An-Nahl 16:43]
