The questioner : What is the story of the trunk on which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to deliver sermons, which, when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) left it for a period, began to make a sound or moan?

The Shaykh : Its story, as the questioner reported, is that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to deliver sermons facing a palm tree trunk. When the pulpit was made for him, which is a structure of wooden planks with steps, made from the thorn trees of the forest, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) left it and delivered sermons from the pulpit. The trunk began to moan like the moaning of camels in labor for their young. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) descended from the pulpit and began to quiet it, and it became quiet. Yes, and this is a sign among the signs of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and it is not the greatest sign, nor the last sign, nor the first sign.

The questioner : This questioner says, is he from Riyadh?
