The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) says in the chapter on sufficiency in the two revelations, the Book and the Sunnah, over what is other than them, he says:
"If you wish to see clearly what I have mentioned, then lower your *** from anything other than the reports and the Qur'an"
"See clearly" means with the eye of your heart what I have mentioned to you, which is that the revelation in its two parts, the Book and the Sunnah, is sufficient. So lower your gaze from anything other than the reports and the Qur'an. Abandon these books, these books that contain nothing but nonsense and false speech.
"And abandon the patterns of creation, do not pay them any *** *** in happiness, for what suffices you is the Dabaran"
He means, abandon what they have depicted of all speech that contradicts what is in the Book and the Sunnah. As for speech that agrees with what is in the Book and the Sunnah, it is part of the Book and the Sunnah.
"In the Sa'd is what suffices you from the Dabaran"
I mentioned to you previously that the Sa'ads are three: Sa'd al-Dhabih... and the Sa'ads are Sa'd al-Sa'ad and the Dabaran. I mentioned to you that it is what? A small red star that appears behind the Pleiades. And he says:
"In the Sa'd is what suffices you from the Dabaran" And I think, from his words, that Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) meant that the Arabs used to take an omen as a bad sign from it, meaning from the Dabaran, and they used to take an omen as a good sign from the Sa'd, because Sa'd is from happiness and Dabaran is from the back, so in the Sa'd is what suffices you from the Dabaran.
