Intercourse with the wife in the anus

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa number ( 1268 )
Q2: What is the legal ruling on a man who approaches his wife—meaning: his lawful wife
and has intercourse with her in the anus without knowing?

Part 2: It is forbidden for a man to have intercourse with his wife in her anus. If a man does so without knowing, due to some circumstance, he is excused and pardoned if he stops when it becomes clear to him. The evidence for the prohibition of having intercourse with one's wife in her anus is what was narrated by Ahmad , al-Bukhari , and Muslim from Jabir ibn 'Abd Allah :
the Jews used to say that when one comes to one's wife through the vagina, but being on her back, and she becomes pregnant, the child has a squint. So the verse came down: " Your wives are your ti'Ith; go then unto your tilth, as you may desire."
Sahih Muslim 1435b
And Muslim added:
Whether he wishes her to be lying face down or not, except that it is in one orifice
Sunan al-Bayhaqi 10:1451
So Allah refuted the Jews in their statement: "If a man approaches his wife in her front from the direction of her rear while she is lying on her face, the child will be born with a squint." And the verse clarified that it is permissible for a man to approach his wife in any
manner he wishes, whether she is lying on her back or face down, as long as his intercourse with her is in her front, based on the understanding of the Companions, who were Arabs, and Allah's naming women as a harvest from which offspring is hoped, whereas offspring is not hoped for from intercourse in the anus. And what was mentioned in the occasion of revelation regarding pregnancy and the birth of a strabismic child, pregnancy and the child do not result from intercourse in the anus at all, neither strabismic nor otherwise. And Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated from Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her),
From the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding His saying: YOUR WIVES ARE A HARVEST FOR YOU, SO APPROACH YOUR HARVEST IN WHATEVER MANNER YOU WISH, meaning: one orificeعن النبي -صلى الله عليه وسلم- في قوله تعالى: نِسَاؤُكُمْ حَرْثٌ لَكُمْ فَأْتُوا حَرْثَكُمْ أَنَّى شِئْتُمْ يعني: صماما واحدا
and he said: It is a good hadith. This, while many hadiths have come regarding the prohibition of a man having intercourse with his wife in her anus, among them what was narrated by Ahmad and Abu Dawud from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
He who has intercourse with a woman through her anus is accursed.
Bulugh al-Maram 8:56
And in another wording:
Allah will not look at a man who has intercourse with his wife in her buttocks.
Sunan Ibn Majah 1923Sahih (Darussalam)
narrated by Ahmad and Ibn Majah .
And among them what was narrated by Ahmad from 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Do not approach women in their buttocks, or he said: "in their anuses"
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 6:809
And among them what was narrated by Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi from 'Ali ibn Talq who said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say:
do not go into your women in their behinds for indeed Allah is not shy of the truth.
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1164Hasan (Darussalam)
And al-Tirmidhi said: It is a good hadith. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
