Fasting from forbidden acts and striving for acts of obedience during it.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Some people fast from eating, drinking, and intercourse, but they do not fast from the forbidden gaze. What is the forbidden gaze? It is the forbidden gaze. For example, a man looking at a woman, looking at women, following women, and flirting with women. All of this is forbidden. All of this is a trial. It contradicts the perfection of fasting. It contradicts the perfection of fasting. We say to this brother: your fast is deficient. It is deficient to the extent of the sin you committed during it. It is valid and clears the conscience, and a person is not required to repeat the fast, but it is very deficient. Imam Ahmad narrated in his *Musnad* with a weak chain—we mention this to clarify that it is weak, but there may be a lesson in it—that two women fasted during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and became extremely thirsty until they nearly died of thirst. This was mentioned to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), so he called for them. The two women came, and he ordered them to vomit. What does "vomit" mean? Yes, it means to expel what is in their stomachs. They vomited blood and soft meat. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Indeed, these two women fasted from what Allah had made lawful for them and broke their fast with what Allah had forbidden for them. إن هاتين المرأتين صامتا عما أحل الله لهما وأفطرتا على ما حرم الله عليهما
We ask Allah for well-being. This hadith is weak, but there is no doubt that sin and backbiting diminish the fast. Therefore, I urge myself and you to preserve our fasting in this blessed month, because fasting in it is obligatory. The one who is fasting should occupy himself with the remembrance of Allah, the Qur'an, prayer, and doing good to creation through charity, assistance, and support, because all of that is good. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was the most generous of people, and he was at his most generous in Ramadan when Jibril would meet him to review the Qur'an. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was more generous with good than the sending wind. So, maintain your striving to do good and be kind in this blessed month, perhaps you will attain the mercy, generosity, grace, and kindness of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). We stop here with what we have mentioned, and perhaps we will now begin with questions. If they end before the prayer, otherwise after the prayer, if Allah wills.

The questioner : In the name of Allah, and praise be to Allah, and may prayers and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah.
