Reconciling the statement of Allah the Exalted: "And if a calamity strikes them, they say, 'This is from you.' Say, 'Everything is from Allah'" with His statement

The Shaykh : If someone were to say: Two verses from the Book of Allah contradict this principle. They are the words of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He: [An-Nisa 4:78]. "Everything" here means both the good and the bad; everything is from Allah. This verse clarifies that the good deeds and the bad deeds are from whom? From whom? From Allah, from Allah, Mighty and Majestic. And in another verse: [An-Nisa 4:79]. It divides the good and the bad into two categories: the good is from Allah, and the bad is from the self. So how is the reconciliation made?
We say: Reflect, reflect, and the reconciliation will become clear to you. As for the first verse, those people accused the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) that when a calamity struck them, they took an omen from the Messenger and said, "It is from you, O Muhammad." So Allah the Exalted clarified: What? That everything is from Allah; everything is from Allah. As for the second, it explains the cause: the cause of the evil that befalls the servant is the servant himself, the servant's own self. The evidence for this is the statement of Allah the Exalted:[Ash-Shuraa 42:30] What? [Ash-Shuraa 42:30] Therefore, attributing the evil to the servant is in the sense of attributing the cause to the effect. And attributing it to Allah is in the sense of attributing the created thing to the Creator. Thus, the apparent contradiction is resolved, and at that point, there is no contradiction.
and if evil befalls them, they say, "This is from you." Say, "All [things] are from Allah."
وإن تصبهم سيئة يقولوا هذه من عندك قل كل من عند اللهWhat comes to you of good is from Allah, but what comes to you of evil, [O man], is from yourself
ما أصابك من حسنة فمن الله وما أصابك من سيئة فمن نفسكWe say: Reflect, reflect, and the reconciliation will become clear to you.
