I was blessed with sons and daughters, some of whom are alive and some have passed away, but I have not performed the 'aqiqah sacrifice for them since a long time ago. What should I do now?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : I was blessed with sons and daughters, some of whom are alive and some have passed away, but I have not slaughtered any 'aqiqah sacrifice, neither for the girls nor for the boys, and this has been the case for a long time. What should I do now? Please advise us, may Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : If those who died or grew up were born when their father was poor and unable to perform the 'aqiqah, then he owes nothing, because when the cause existed, he was unable to carry out what he was commanded to do, so he owes nothing.
As for if, at the birth of these children and the time when their 'aqiqah became due, he was wealthy and able to do so, but the days passed by, then we see that he should perform the 'aqiqah now for the living and for the deceased.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
