The meaning of the saying of Allah the Exalted: "He said: 'Far be it from me to take a life for which Allah has given life, except in the case of mutual killing. Indeed, I want to drive him out of the land. Indeed, he is of the wrongdoers.'"

The Shaykh : ...except Allah, Mighty and Majestic. He closed the door and said, "Come, do it." He said, "He said:
Far be it from me معاذ الله
[I seek] the refuge of Allah. Indeed, he is my master, who has made good my residence معاذ الله إنه ربي أحسن مثواي
[Yusuf 12:23]
meaning that Allah is my Lord, who has made my dwelling place the best and has facilitated for me this great dwelling. How can I repay this blessing with disbelief?
Indeed, he is my master, who has made good my residence. Indeed, wrongdoers will not succeed." إنه ربي أحسن مثواي إنه لا يفلح الظالمون
[Yusuf 12:23]
It was also said that by his saying:
Indeed, He is my Lord إنه ربي
the Mighty, he meant that the Mighty is the King of Egypt, his Lord, meaning his master, who has made his dwelling place the best, and it is not possible for me to betray him in his household. But the first meaning is more correct: that he said, "My Lord has made my dwelling place the best and bestowed blessings upon me, and it is not possible for me to be ungrateful for His blessings."
