Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : We move on to the second surah, which was recited in the second rak'ah:
(1) By the fig and the olive (2) And [by] Mount Sinai (3) And [by] this secure city [Makkah], والتين والزيتون وطور سنين وهذا البلد الأمين
[At-Tin 95:1-3]
.
And the fig and the oliveالتين والزيتون
is well known. Allah swore by it because of the good and blessings contained in it. It was also said that He swore by it because it is in the land of Sham, which is the place where the prophets from the Children of Israel were sent.
And Mount Sinai وطور سنين
is the mount from which Allah spoke to whom? To Musa (peace be upon him).
And this secure city وهذا البلد الأمين
means Makkah, from which was sent whom? Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Allah swore by these places because they are places where a great event occurred, namely the divine missions.
