The reciter: And from him (may Allah be pleased with him) it is narrated that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, this world will not pass away until a man will pass by a grave, and will roll on it and say: ‘Would that I were in the place of the occupant of this grave!’ And the reason for that will not be any religious motive, rather it will be because of calamity. والذي نفسي بيده لا تذهب الدنيا حتى يمر الرجل على القبر فيتمرغ عليه ويقول يا ليتني كنت مكان صاحب هذا القبر وليس به الدين إلا البلاء
Sunan Ibn Majah 4037Sahih (Darussalam)
It was narrated by Muslim.

The Shaykh : This is also among the signs of the Hour: that trials, disturbances, and tribulations will increase until a man passes by a grave and rolls himself upon it, saying: "I wish I were in his place." When we imagine this state, we find that it is a tremendous state, a terrifying state. Is there any among us who wishes to die? No. But because of the absence of tribulation, misery, sorrows, worries, and trials, a man comes and rolls himself upon the grave, saying: "I wish I were in his place." It is not that he is being oppressed by a debt upon him or something similar, but rather the tribulations that have befallen people and the trials are what cause him to roll upon the grave until he wishes to be in its place.
