A word from the Shaykh on the issue of people breaking their fast before the Maghrib adhan out of ignorance.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : As for the topic of our lesson today, on the morning of the twenty-sixth of Ramadan in the year 1444, it concerns something related to fasting. This is because the question has been repeated, not just once, but by more than one person, regarding a mu'adhdhin who called the adhan based on hearing the adhan on the radio, and his adhan was about two or three minutes before the time. People broke their fast based on his adhan, assuming it was the customary adhan. Then, afterwards, they heard the mu'adhdhins call the adhan three minutes or so after that. What is the ruling on the fasting of those who broke their fast? Do we order them to make up the fast, or do we say that they do not have to make it up? I say that, based on this question, it is perhaps in the interest to speak about this with some detail. So we say: The things that break the fast are known, and there is no need to repeat them, as I think we mentioned them in previous years. But we repeat that these things that break the fast do not invalidate the fast except with three conditions: knowledge, remembrance, and intention.
