The Shaykh : Yes, I say that the woman is commanded to cover herself and to avoid tabarruj (displaying her adornment), and she is commanded to have modesty. Modesty is part of faith and is a trait of women. So much so that in the proverbs, it is said of a modest man, “He is more modest than a virgin in her chamber.” She is prohibited from tabarruj with adornment. Indeed, Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says, listen:[An-Nur 24:60] The elderly women who no longer hope for marriage because of their age, meaning they do not hope that anyone would want them for marriage. Allah the Exalted made it a condition for them to put on their outer garments that they not display their adornment. The meaning is , meaning the outer garment that is worn.
