What is your opinion of the one who said that the one who delays the tawaf of Ifadah and performs sa'y after it for Hajj, that it does not suffice for him as the tawaf of farewell, explaining that he delayed in order to perform sa'y, and that sa'y may take hours?

The questioner : The one who said: that the one who delays the tawaf of Ifadah and performs sa'y after it for Hajj, that it does not suffice for him as the tawaf of farewell, explaining that he delayed in order to perform sa'y, and that sa'y may take hours, does this opinion have a basis?

The Shaykh : What I see is that it has no basis, because sa'y is attached to tawaf, and it is not a condition for tawaf to be the last of his actions that he does not perform an act of worship after it. It is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he performed tawaf for farewell, then prayed Fajr after the tawaf of farewell, and then he walked.
Likewise, Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), when she performed 'Umrah on the night of departure, she brought an 'Umrah of tawaf, sa'y, and shortening the hair. Al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned in his *Sahih* a heading on the hadith of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the one performing 'Umrah is sufficed by his tawaf for the tawaf of farewell, even though sa'y will come between him and the tawaf. Yes.
