The questioner : I always lose khushu' in my prayer, but I try hard to be humble and reflect on what I am saying. What is the cure that leads to khushu' and reflection in prayer? And is the prayer accepted in such a state?
The Shaykh : As long as a person treats himself by expelling waswas (whispers) and doubts, he is on the right path. Otherwise, Shaytan wants the servant to waver, hesitate, and be anxious in his worship. This is evidenced by the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the man who makes a mistake in his prayer: if he completed his prayer, then the two prostrations—meaning the prostrations of forgetfulness—are a rebuke to Shaytan. Yes.
The questioner : From the questions of the female questioner, she says: O honorable Shaykh.
