He is the one who killed the caliph who gathered *** the Qur'an, the possessor of the two lights and excellence (The virtues of Uthman and a mention of the fitnah of his killing)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"He is the one who killed the caliph who gathered *** the Qur'an, the possessor of the two lights and excellence"
By this he means Uthman ibn Affan, whom they killed due to their figurative interpretation (ta'wil), because those who rebelled against him and incited his people and his community against him were those who engaged in figurative interpretation (ta'wil). They claimed that he had committed open sinfulness (fisq) by their assertion that he appointed someone unfit for authority, such as Abdullah ibn Abi Sarh and others. They said that this man had committed open sinfulness (fisq), and some of them said that he had committed disbelief (kufr). So they gathered the people against him, they stormed his house, and they killed him while he was reading the Book of Allah (may Allah be pleased with him and grant him satisfaction).
He said: "The one who gathered the Qur'an" Yes, he is the one who gathered the Qur'an in the second gathering, because the first gathering was in the time of Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), but...
He gathered it, and the people were reciting it on seven modes (ahruf) and they differed in their recitation of it. So when Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) feared fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) because of that, he gathered them on one mode (harf), which is the mode of Quraysh, meaning the language of Quraysh, and he burned the other copies of the Qur'an (mushafs) and obligated the community to restrict themselves to the language of Quraysh only. So in this was a gathering of the community and a unity among them for which he is to be thanked (may Allah be pleased with him), and may Allah reward him with good for the community of Muhammad.
He said: "The possessor of the two lights" meaning the one who has the two lights, and that is because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married him to his two daughters, Ruqayyah and Umm Kulthum. For this reason, some of the people of the Sunnah and the community (Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah) said: If the Rafidah (the Twelver Shi'ah) boast that Ali ibn Abi Talib was married by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to his daughter, then Uthman boasts that he was married to his two daughters.
He said: "And excellence" Yes, because he (may Allah be pleased with him) equipped the army of hardship with one hundred camels with their saddles and their saddles' straps. And when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Who will buy this well, the well of Awna, and it will be for him Paradise? Uthman bought it with his wealth (may Allah be pleased with him). من يشتري هذه البئر بئر أرومة وتكون له جنة اشتراها عثمان بحر ماله رضي الله عنه
He has done excellence to the Muslim community by equipping the armies and by making the water sweet for them.
