(Explanation of Another Similarity Between the Jahmiyyah and the Jews) The nun of the Jews and the lam of the Jahmi are both *** two additions in the revelation of the Lord of the Throne, and likewise the Jahmi denied His attributes *** and the Jews

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"The nun of the Jews and the lam of the Jahmi are both *** two additions in the revelation of the Lord of the Throne"
The nun of the Jews is in the word "hinnah" (wheat) regarding Allah, He said:
Say, "Hittah" (a reduction) قولوا حطة
They said, "Hinnah." Likewise, the lam of the Jahmi is in the word "istawa" (rose) regarding Allah the Exalted, He said:
Istawa (He rose) استوى
And he said, "istawala" (seized). So both are two additions in the revelation of the Lord of the Throne. This is another similarity.
"And likewise the Jahmi denied His attributes *** and the Jews described Him with deficiency"
The Jews described Allah with deficiency. They said, "The hand of Allah is bound." They said, "Allah is poor." They said, "Allah was tired on the Sabbath, so He rested." We seek refuge in Allah. And they described Allah with every defect. The Jahmi stripped Him of His attributes of perfection. And if He is stripped of His attributes of perfection, it necessarily follows that He is described with deficiency. The connection of necessity is that if you deny an attribute of perfection from Allah, it necessarily follows that He is described with deficiency, because there is no existent thing that does not have an attribute. So if the attribute of perfection is denied from Him, the establishment of the attribute of deficiency necessarily follows. So the Jews described Him with deficiency, and the Jahmi described Him with deficiency. Who is more deserving of being compared to the Jews? The Jahmi who denies [the attributes], not the one who affirms them. Yes, I have no [objection]. Yes.
The student: ...
"So both of them, in their denial of His *** upper attributes, are as I have explained, O my two brothers"
Yes.
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : What? What?
The student: If we read from Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding the refutation of the meaning of "istawa" as "istawala" (seized).

The Shaykh : Unless Allah wills, we will read it when the "Nuniyyah" is completed, if Allah wills. We mentioned a complete bound book regarding this, and we will go read it for the sake of...
The student: No, Shaykh, it is not a complete bound book; it is twenty pages.

The Shaykh : Twenty pages, how much of the night do we sit for it?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : No, it is better for everyone to read it by himself.
The reciter: "So both of them, in their denial of His *** upper attributes, are as I have explained, O my two brothers"
