What is the authenticity of the hadith: “May Allah have mercy on a man who knows his own worth”?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He inquires about the authenticity of this hadith: “May Allah have mercy on a man who knows his own worth”. Does it have a source? And is it reported in the hadiths?

The Shaykh : I do not know of any source for it, but its meaning is correct. When a person knows his own worth, he submits to his Lord and performs His worship, and he realizes that he cannot do without his Lord for even the blink of an eye. And when he knows himself, he knows his standing among people, and this knowledge prevents him from being arrogant toward them or looking down on them, for arrogance is one of the major sins, and belittling people is among the forbidden matters.
Therefore, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) warned against arrogance, they said: O Messenger of Allah! We all love to have good clothing and good sandals. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Verily, Allah is Graceful and He loves Grace. Pride is disdaining the truth (out of self-conceit) and contempt for the people. إن الله جميل يحب الجمال، الكبر بطر الحق وغمط الناس
Sahih Muslim 91a

So when a person knows his own worth, he knows his standing among people and places himself in his proper position, and he is humble before the creation of Allah for the sake of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). And whoever is humble for the sake of Allah, Allah will raise him. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah bless you. The questioner, A-S-H, says.
