Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: ((Indeed, you will die, and they will die. * Then, on the Day of Resurrection, you will dispute before your Lord.))

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Then Allah the Exalted said:
(30) Indeed, you are to die, and indeed, they are to die. (31) Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, before your Lord, will dispute. إنك ميت وإنهم ميتون * ثم إنكم يوم القيامة عند ربكم تختصمون
[Az-Zumar 39:30-31]
Indeed, you إنك
The address is to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family)
Dead. ميت
describing him in the future
And they will die وإنهم ميتون
likewise. He affirmed death, despite the certainty of knowledge of it, so that the deeds of those who lied about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) would be like the deeds of one who is not certain of death. For whoever truly believes in death must work for it, but they do not work for it. So their lack of working for it is like death, or in the position of death; therefore, he affirmed it. And His saying:
Dead. ميت
with the emphasis on the yaa, is said of one who is about to die while still alive. As for *mayyit*, it is said of one upon whom death has occurred, meaning after the departure of his life; it is said *mayyit*. It is sometimes said *mayyit*, but the more common is *mayyit*. So on this basis, there is a distinction between describing the living with death and saying of him *mayyit*, and describing the dead with death and saying *mayyit*. Yes.
You إنكم
The address is to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and to those who opposed him and disbelieved in him.
on the Day of Resurrection يوم القيامة
Its exegesis has been mentioned previously.
before your Lord, will dispute. عند ربكم تختصمون
[Az-Zumar 39:31]
And we know now the result of this dispute: who will prevail? Yes.
The student: ...

The Shaykh : The believers, without doubt. Allah Blessed and Exalted is He said:
and never will Allah give the disbelievers over the believers a way [to overcome them]. ولن يجعل الله لكافرين على المؤمنين سبيلا
[An-Nisa 4:141]
So the disbeliever has no way over the believer. So the result, and praise be to Allah, is known: that the believers are the prevailing ones on the Day of Resurrection, and they are the disputants against their enemies. Now we descend to the words of the author, and then we will take all the benefits, if Allah wills.
