A man to whom Allah granted an Islamic upbringing in a family that enjoins good and forbids evil, honors guests, and cares for the rights of neighbors, and who has been fully committed for years

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : First, I praise Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He. For a long time, Allah has granted me an Islamic upbringing in a family that enjoins good and forbids evil, honors guests, and cares for the rights of neighbors. For years, I have been fully committed, and this is from the grace of Allah upon me. For about three months, O honorable Shaykh, I have been afflicted with a disease, which is a smell that emanates from my body when I am in the mosque to perform prayer, offending the worshippers around me. This smell is not a gas that is expelled, but rather it wafts from the body. For the record, I presented myself to three doctors and a specialist, and I have not found a result yet. For the record as well, I do not eat onions, garlic, or anything with a bad smell at all; rather, the smell comes from my body. My question is: Do I bear any sin, O honorable Shaykh, if I pray the five obligatory prayers at home, because I am embarrassed before those who look at me after prayer and before all people? I have now become isolated from people out of embarrassment, and I am always in a state of wudu' day and night, and the smell wafts from my body. I ask Allah, O honorable Shaykh, to grant me healing. So what do you advise me? And pray for me that He may remove this disease from me. May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : I ask Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, by His beautiful names and His sublime attributes, to heal our brother from this disease with a swift healing that leaves no illness behind.

The questioner : O Allah, amen.

The Shaykh : And I say to him: If he increases the cleansing of his body by washing it, even twice a day, and uses fragrant items, perhaps that will alleviate this smell.
As for attending the mosque, if the smell is strong and offends those in the mosque, let him refrain from attending the mosque, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade one who has eaten onions or garlic from approaching the mosques. In doing so, he bears no sin, because it is not by his choice that he stays behind. And if it is his custom to pray with the congregation, as his question indicates, he is credited with the full reward of the congregation.

The questioner : What Allah willed.

The Shaykh : Even if he prays in his home.

The questioner : Praise be to Allah.

The Shaykh : Due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever is ill or travels is credited with what he used to do while healthy and resident. من مرض أو سافر كتِب له ما كان يعمل صحيحاً مقيماً
, I ask Allah the Exalted for him swift healing, a healing that leaves no illness behind.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good, O honorable Shaykh Muhammad. This listener is from Egypt, from the Arab Republic of Egypt. Sayyid Abbas says.
