Likewise the emigrants who preceded, and likewise the ***Ansar, the people of the home and faith (Discussion of the Muhajireen and the Ansar, an explanation of their virtue, and an interpretation of the verses of Surat al-Hashr)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"Likewise the emigrants who preceded"
And the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhajireen and the Ansar والسابقون الأولون من المهاجرين والأنصار
[At-Tawbah 9:100]
From which country did they emigrate? From Makkah, the best of Allah's lands and the most beloved of lands to them, they emigrated to Allah and His Messenger, leaving behind their wealth, their homes, and their families. They emigrated to Allah and His Messenger, so they had the precedence in emigration.
"Likewise *** the Ansar, the people of the home and faith"
The Ansar (may Allah be pleased with them)
those who were settled in al-Madinah and [adopted] the faith before them الذين تبؤوا الدار والإيمان من قبلهم
[Al-Hashr 59:9]
before the Muhajireen
They love those who emigrated to them and find not any want in their breasts of what the emigrants were given يحبون من هاجر إليهم ولا يجدون في صدورهم حاجة مما أوتوا
[Al-Hashr 59:9]
To whom does the pronoun refer? It refers to the Muhajireen. Meaning: they did not find in their hearts anything against the Muhajireen when Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) preferred them with what He preferred them with, even though they were the ones who came to them.
"And those who followed them with excellence *** and those who walk in their guidance in every age"
Meaning: if a person emigrated, he would find these good, bright signs.
