Explanation of the Hadith of 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (may Allah be pleased with them both)

The Shaykh : (peace and blessings be upon him) in response to my question to them: .
We stated in the previous lesson that this phrase: "the poor emigrants" could mean that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) intended the first emigrants, Abu Bakr al-Siddiq and those who followed him among the emigrants who migrated to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the Blessed City. It is also possible that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) intended by this phrase the poor emigrants: everyone to whom these descriptions applied that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) described them with. Perhaps this second meaning is more likely to be the correct one, because first, it includes the first emigrants who migrated to the City of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and second, because there are hadiths in this chapter that indicate that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) meant others besides the first emigrants. When the Messenger (peace be upon him) mentioned these emigrants and praised them, stating that they would enter Paradise before others by forty autumns or years, Abu Bakr himself said:. Then he mentioned some of the strangers, as came in the hadith which we have mentioned on various occasions, whom the Messenger (peace be upon him) described: . So the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) indicated that these poor emigrants are not the previous first emigrants, but rather everyone to whom these descriptions apply that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) described them with.
First, they are poor. Second, they emigrate in the cause of Allah. Third, the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him): meaning they are placed and presented for every hardship in the garrison in the cause of Allah the Exalted. Hardships are averted by them. For example, if they were in a country and the disbelievers and enemies attacked it, they would be the first by whom the evil of these invading disbelievers is averted, and similar hardships. And among their characteristics is also: Sahih Ibn Hibban 64:332. We can give a simple example of this: because of his poverty, he desires something from what Allah the Exalted has made lawful of food or drink. As it is authentic from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) that he once desired and wished he had a thin loaf of bread spread with butter. So the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) lived a life of poverty, and days would pass, one, two, or three, without fire being lit in his house, as the Lady Aisha said. So the poor person finds a need in himself but cannot fulfill it because of his poverty and his inability to reach it. This is among the descriptions of these poor emigrants, one of whom dies with his need in his chest, unable to fulfill it.
There is no doubt that such poor people live in extreme poverty, and Allah the Exalted says: and He says: [Az-Zumar 39:10].
Do you know who is the first of Allah's creation to enter Paradise? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The poor emigrants

أنحن هم يا رسول الله ؟ قال: لا، أنتم على خير كثيرThat they are a few righteous people among many evil people, and those who disobey them are more than those who obey them
بأنهم ناس قليلون صالحون بين ناس سوء كثير من يعصيهم أكثر ممن يطيعهمFirst, they are poor. Second, they emigrate in the cause of Allah. Third, the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him):
Those by whom the frontiers are secured
الذين تُسدّ بهم الثغورAnd hardships are averted by them
وتتقى بهم المكارهAnd one of them dies with his need in his chest, unable to fulfill it
