So hasten to the remembrance of Allah

فاسعوا إلى ذكر الله

. And some said: “Hastening” means working and going, based on His saying, the Exalted:

And he strove for it with his striving

وسعى لها سعيها

. And Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) said:

Selling is forbidden at that time

يحرم البيع حينئذ

. And Ata said:

All trades are forbidden

تحرم الصناعات كلها

. And Ibrahim ibn Sa’d said, from al-Zuhri:

If the mu’adhdhin calls to prayer on Friday and one is a traveler, he must attend

إذا أذن المؤذن يوم الجمعة ، وهو مسافر ، فعليه أن يشهد
