Chapter: From where is the Friday prayer performed, and upon whom is it obligatory?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Reciter: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. And prayers and peace be upon the noblest of the prophets and messengers, our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions. As for what follows:
Imam al-Bukhari said in his Sahih, in the Book of Jumu'ah:
Chapter: From where is the Friday prayer attended, and upon whom is it obligatory? By the saying of Allah, Glorified and Exalted:
When the call is made for prayer on the day of Jumu'ah
. And Ata said:
If you are in a large village, and the call is made for the prayer on the day of Jumu'ah, then it is your right to attend it, whether you heard the call or not. And Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) was in his palace, sometimes he would gather for the prayer and sometimes he would not, and he was in al-Zawiyyah, two farsakh away.
.

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The author, al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him), said: "Chapter: From where is the Friday prayer attended?" Meaning, from where does one come to it, from a far place or a near place? This is part of the heading. And "upon whom is it obligatory?" Is it obligatory upon everyone, men and women, adults and non-adults, the sick and the healthy? Then he cited as evidence the saying of Allah, the Exalted:
When the call is made for prayer on the day of Jumu'ah
.
Al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) uses this sometimes, meaning that he does not mention the verse in its entirety, but only a part of it. The verse is:
O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu'ah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah
[Al-Jumu'ah 62:9]
And it should have been mentioned that this
O you who believe, when the call is made for the prayer on the day of Jumu'ah
so that it becomes clear that the address is to every believer, and that the original ruling is the obligation of Jumu'ah upon every person unless there is evidence to the contrary. This is due to the generality of His saying:
O you who have believed
[Al-Baqarah 2:104]
This formulation includes every believer, whether male or female, young or old, free or slave, traveler or resident, in general. So no one is excluded from it except what the evidence indicates is excluded.
Also, "when the call is made for the prayer on the day of Jumu'ah," he did not bring the answer to the "if." But I have a copy
So hasten to the remembrance of Allah
another copy
So hasten to the remembrance of Allah
and this is necessary. So the copy that has
then hasten to the remembrance of Allah
is more correct, because the answer to the condition should not be omitted without knowledge.
Yes, good. And his saying:
When the call is made for prayer on the day of Jumu'ah
The noble verse indicates that the call is a collective obligation (fard kifayah) by his saying:
when the call is made إذا نودي
, and it also indicates that there is a call for other than Jumu'ah, because specifying the call for the day of Jumu'ah indicates that there is another call, otherwise there would be no benefit in specifying Jumu'ah.
And his saying
for the prayer للصلاة
means the Friday prayer.
And Ata said:
If you are in a large village, and the call is made for the prayer on the day of Jumu'ah, then it is your right to attend it, whether you heard the call or not
If the call is made, you must attend and witness it, whether you heard it or not. It seems that he (may Allah have mercy on him) took that from the generality of His saying:
When the call is made for prayer
, and he did not say "when you hear the call" as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When you hear the Iqama, proceed to offer the prayer
Sahih al-Bukhari 636
Here he said:
when the call is made إذا نودي
And there is no doubt that if one is in the town, and it is one town, even if it is large, and even if the people in the outskirts of the town do not hear the adhan, then it is obligatory upon all the people of the town to attend, whether they heard the call or not.
And Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) was in his palace, sometimes he would gather for the prayer and sometimes he would not, and he was in al-Zawiyyah, two farsakh away
Two farsakh from where? From the village or the town.
Do you explain the athar?
The Reciter: Should I read the first opening?

The Shaykh : How?
The Reciter: From the beginning?

The Shaykh : No, the first one, I think it is clear,
And Anas
the suspended one.

The Shaykh : The first opening or the second?
The Reciter: He mentioned some words but...

The Shaykh : Read...
And Anas

The reader: ...

The Shaykh : It is as if you are eager to read it. Well, there is no harm, good.
