Explanation of the Book of Friday Prayer and the Two Festivals-06a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Hajjaj narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, Zubayd informed me, saying: I heard al-Sha'bi, from al-Bara', saying: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering a sermon, in which he said:
The first thing to be done on this day (first day of `Id ul Adha) is to pray; and after returning from the prayer we slaughter our sacrifices (in the name of Allah) and whoever does so, he acted according to our Sunna (traditions). إن أول ما نبدأ من يومنا هذا أن نصلي ثم نرجع فننحر، فمن فعل فقد أصاب سنتنا
Sahih al-Bukhari 951
.

The Shaykh : This is the Day of Sacrifice, and it contains evidence that it is not valid to slaughter the sacrificial animal before the prayer, due to his saying:
is to pray; and after returning أن نصلي ثم نرجع
Sahih al-Bukhari 951
