Explanation of the Book of Friday Prayer and the Two Festivals-08b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: 'Umar ibn Hafs narrated to us, my father narrated to us, Al-A'mash narrated to us, Muslim narrated to me, from Misraq, from 'A'ishah, who said:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) offered witr prayer at different nights at various hours extending (from the `Isha' prayer) up to the last hour of the night. كل الليل أوتر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وانتهى وتره إلى السحر
Sahih al-Bukhari 996
.

The Shaykh : Some scholars understood this hadith to mean that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed the entire night until the time of the dawn. However, the correct meaning is: he would perform the witr prayer from any part of the night; thus, he would perform it from the beginning, from the middle, and from the end.
