Ruling on praying two witr prayers in one night
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q268: The questioner, a Sudanese national residing in al-Qassim, asks: Is it permissible to pray two witr prayers in one night? And if I intend to pray witr at the beginning of the night, then get up at the end of the night and pray tahajjud, do I pray witr or not?
A268: Witr is prayed only once, and it is not permissible to repeat it; for there are not two witr prayers in one night. If you have prayed witr in a night, that is sufficient. There is no harm in getting up at the end of the night and praying whatever is easy for you, other than witr; the first witr is sufficient. If you delay the witr, you must resolve to get up at the end of the night, and this is not difficult for you, for you are delaying the witr until the end of the night.
