The reciter: Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Isma'il ibn Ja'far narrated to us, from Shurayk, from Anas ibn Malik:
that a man entered the mosque
Mishkat al-Masabih 790

The Shaykh : Shurayk and Shurayh, with a hamza with a dammah, and a kaf with a fathah, yes.
The reciter: From Shurayk from Anas ibn Malik:
That a man entered the mosque on a Friday from a gate that was near the court of judgment, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was standing delivering the sermon, so he faced the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while standing and then said: O Messenger of Allah, the wealth has perished and the paths have been cut off, so call upon Allah to send us relief? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his hands and then said: O Allah, send us relief, O Allah, send us relief, O Allah, send us relief. Anas said: By Allah, we did not see any cloud or wisp in the sky, and there was no house or dwelling between us and Sulayl. He said: Then a cloud like a shield rose up behind him, and when it reached the middle of the sky, it spread out and then it rained. By Allah, we did not see the sun for six days. Then a man entered from that same gate on a Friday while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was standing delivering the sermon, so he faced him while standing and said: O Messenger of Allah, the wealth has perished and the paths have been cut off, so call upon Allah to hold it back from us? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his hands and then said: O Allah, around us and not upon us, O Allah, upon the hills, the valleys, the bottoms of the wadis, and the places where trees grow. Anas said: So the clouds dispersed and we went out walking in the sun. Shurayk said: I asked Anas ibn Malik if it was the same man as the first one? And he said: I do not know.
.

The Shaykh : This has been discussed previously, but here it says "O Allah, send us relief," whereas in the previous one it said "O Allah, give us rain." They mean the same thing, but this provides evidence that the narrators may manipulate the wording and narrate the hadith by meaning, and there is no harm in this. It is well known, for in many hadiths you will find differences in their wording while the meaning is the same.
In this hadith, it says "the wealth has perished and the paths have been cut off" in this narration, while in some narrations it says "the wealth has perished and the buildings have collapsed," and this wording is more appropriate.
