The Shaykh : This is one of the most beautiful chains of narration in the hadith of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him).
A year of drought struck the people during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). While the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering the sermon on the pulpit on a Friday, a Bedouin man stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah, the wealth has perished and the families are hungry, so call upon Allah for us to rain upon us? He said: So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his hands, and there was not a single cloud in the sky. He said: Then clouds rose up like mountains, and he did not descend from the pulpit until I saw the rain pouring down onto his beard. He said: So it rained on us that day, and the next day, and the day after that, and the day following that, until the next Friday. Then that Bedouin man, or another man, stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah, the buildings have collapsed and the wealth has been drowned, so call upon Allah for us? So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his hands and said: O Allah, around us, but not upon us. He said: So he kept pointing his hand toward a side of the sky, and it would not be a side of the sky that he pointed to without the clouds parting, until the city became like a hollow, and the canal of Qana flowed for a month. He said: So no one came from any direction but that he reported abundance.
أصابت الناس سنة على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فبينا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يخطب على المنبر يوم الجمعة قام أعرابي فقال: يا رسول الله، هلك المال، وجاع العيال، فادع الله لنا أن يسقينا؟ قال: فرفع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يديه، وما في السماء قزعة، قال: فثار سحاب أمثال الجبال ثم لم ينزل عن منبره حتى رأيت المطر يتحادر على لحيته، قال: فمطرنا يومنا ذلك وفي الغد ومن بعد الغد والذي يليه إلى الجمعة الأخرى، فقام ذلك الأعرابي أو رجل غيره فقال: يا رسول الله، تهدم البناء وغرق المال، فادع الله لنا؟ فرفع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يديه وقال: اللهم حوالينا ولا علينا، قال: فما جعل يشير بيده إلى ناحية من السماء إلا تفرجت حتى صارت المدينة في مثل الجوبة حتى سال الوادي وادي قناة شهرًا، قال: فلم يجئ أحد من ناحية إلا حدث بالجودThe Shaykh : This is one of the most beautiful chains of narration in the hadith of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him).
