Explanation of the Book of Friday Prayer and the Two Festivals-09b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Musaddad narrated to us, Abu Awana narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Anas ibn Malik, who said:
While the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering the sermon on Friday, a man came to him and said: "O Messenger of Allah, the rain has ceased, so call upon Allah to send us rain." He made the supplication, and it rained upon us, and we barely
.

The Shaykh : "Send us rain" or "be sent rain"? Both forms are permissible. Allah the Exalted said:
and their Lord will give them a purifying drink.
[Al-Insan 76:21]
And He said:
and have given you to drink sweet water.
[Al-Mursalat 77:27]
So in the first case, it is "sends," and in the second, it is "is sent."
The reader:
We barely managed to reach our homes before the rain continued until the following Friday. Then that man, or another, stood up and said: "O Messenger of Allah, call upon Allah to turn it away from us?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah, around us, but not upon us." I saw the clouds breaking apart to the right and left; they were rained upon, but the people of Madinah were not.
.

The Shaykh : Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest.
