When the term of life approaches, does a person see the angels?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : That is, he asks: When the term of life approaches, does a person see the angels or not?
Allah the Mighty and Majestic says:
Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throat
[Al-Waqi'ah 56:83]
meaning the soul is at the throat, at the throat
(84) And you are at that time looking on - (85) And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see - وأنتم حينئذ تنظرون ونحن أقرب إليه منكم ولكن لا تبصرون
[Al-Waqi'ah 56:84-85]
.
The angels are not seen; this is the principle. The principle is that the angels are not seen because the angels are of the unseen realm. However, a person may see them at this moment, but not every person sees them. The person sees his soul coming out of his body; he sees his soul, and his gaze becomes fixed. His gaze becomes fixed, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When the soul is seized and leaves the body, the sight follows it.
Bulugh al-Maram 538
. The person sees his soul coming out of him because the power of sight remains, so he sees the soul exiting him. O Allah, bring us out of our state in the best condition You are pleased with from us, for You are capable of all things.
He sees his soul, then he closes his eyes, and then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) closed his eyes and then made a supplication for him that the world cannot weigh. He said:
O Allah! Forgive Abu Salamah, raise his status among (Your) rightly guided servants, make his grave spacious, and fill it with light for him, and be his successor in taking good care of his descendants whom he has left behind, (and make them pious).
Bulugh al-Maram 538
How many are these? Five supplications. By Allah, the entire world is not worth anything compared to these supplications
O Allah, forgive Abu Salama, raise his rank among the guided, expand for him in his grave, and light it for him, for his grave is darkness, and light it for him, and replace him in his descendants
.
Of these five supplications, something was witnessed in this world, and the rest is in the Hereafter. And if Allah wills, I will answer His Messenger regarding this. What was witnessed? That Allah replaced him in his descendants with what? Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her), when Abu Salama died, who did she marry? Who replaced him for his family? The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is the best of creation. Well, Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) told us:
If any servant (of Allah) who suffers a calamity says:" We belong to Allah and to Him shall we return; O Allah, reward me for my affliction and give me something better than it in exchange for it," ' Allah will give him reward for affliction, and would give him something better than it in exchange.
Sahih Muslim 918b
When Abu Salama died, did Umm Salama believe in this? Did she believe in what
That no man is struck by a calamity and says: "O Allah, reward me in my calamity and replace for me something better than it," except that Allah rewards him in his calamity and replaces for him something better than it
? She believed in this, but she said to herself: Who is better than Abu Salama, her first husband, her cousin, her beloved? Who is better than him? Is she asking in doubt that Allah will replace him with someone better than him, or is she thinking about who is better? Which one...? She is thinking, and she is not disbelieving in this, but what was not in her imagination was that Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), would be the one to replace Abu Salama. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married her after Abu Salama.
So I hope that if you are struck by a calamity, however great it may be, that you say: "Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we return. O Allah, reward me in my calamity and replace for me something better than it," believing that Allah the Exalted will reward you and will replace for you something better than it, until you find what the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said to be true, and it is true. Did you understand, my brother? Good, bring the questions.
And Friday and Saturday, if Allah wills.

The questioner : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and blessings and peace upon the noblest of the messengers. And after that: This Shaykh Muhammad Salih ibn Uthaymeen must answer your questions.
