The Permissibility of Accepting the Truth from a Disbeliever, and the Obligation of Rejecting the Falsehood from a Muslim.
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Is it permissible for us to accept the truth from a disbeliever? Oh, what a blessing! Oh, what a blessing! Oh, what a blessing! A disbeliever, we accept from him? Is it permissible? It is permissible, because we accept the truth for the sake of the truth. Is it obligatory for us to reject the falsehood from a Muslim? It is obligatory, because falsehood is falsehood. This is why, when the Shaytan said to Abu Hurayrah: .
The youngest among you, read the Verse of the Throne, come on. You are the youngest of them... No, no, Shaykh. No, no. Never... The age is from twenty to eighty, yes. Between twenty and eighty, man, read the Verse of the Throne.
The student :[Al-Baqarah 2:255].
The Shaykh : May Allah bless you. That is it. This verse was informed about by the Shaytan. The Shaytan informed Abu Hurayrah that if he recited it, a guardian from Allah would remain with him, and the Shaytan would not approach him until morning. So Abu Hurayrah informed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) of this, and he said: and he approved it. And when a learned man from among the scholars of the Jews came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) and said to him: "O Muhammad, we find that Allah the Exalted places the heavens on one finger and the earths on one finger," and he mentioned the rest of the hadith. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) laughed in affirmation of his statement, then he recited: [Az-Zumar 39:67]. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) approved this Jewish scholar in what he said, because what is it? Because it is the truth. So, my brother, accept the truth from whoever brings it, because it is the truth. For this reason, the scholars said: "Know men by the truth, and do not know the truth by men". That is, do not measure the truth by men, because men may err and may hit the mark. But know men by the truth. So whenever you see that this man has brought the truth, he is a man; and if he brings falsehood, he is not a man. These are pearls and benefits from what we have heard.
Shall I direct you to a verse from the Book of Allah, such that if you recite it, a guardian from Allah will remain with you, and the Shaytan will not approach you until you rise? He said: Yes. He said: The Verse of the Throne.
ألا أدلك على آية من كتاب الله إذا قرأتها لم يزل عليك من الله حافظ ولا يقربك الشيطان حتى تصبح ؟ قال نعم. قال : آية الكرسيThe youngest among you, read the Verse of the Throne, come on. You are the youngest of them... No, no, Shaykh. No, no. Never... The age is from twenty to eighty, yes. Between twenty and eighty, man, read the Verse of the Throne.
The student :
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
