The Muslim's Position Toward the Noble Qur'an
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : If we know, my brothers, that this Noble Qur'an is the speech of Allah, and that it is the covenant He sent down to His servants, making it an argument for them or against them, as the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sunan an-Nasa'i 2437Sahih (Darussalam), then what is the believer's position toward this Qur'an?
The believer's position toward this Qur'an is respect, magnification, and proper etiquette. He must comply with its commands and avoid its prohibitions. He must believe in its reports and accept them. This is his position because he knows that this is the speech of the Lord of the worlds, which Allah sent down as a covenant between Him and His servants. If they fulfill their covenant, Allah the Exalted will fulfill what He promised them, as He the Exalted said:[Al-Baqarah 2:40] And He the Exalted said: [Al-Ma'idah 5:12] This is the covenant that is upon us and for us: [Al-Ma'idah 5:12] And what Allah took from the Children of Israel is what Allah took from all mankind: that if they fulfill what they covenanted with Allah, Allah will fulfill for them what He covenanted with them. My brothers, if we hear a command in the Qur'an, it is obligatory for us to comply with it. If we hear a prohibition in the Qur'an, we avoid it. If we hear a report in the Qur'an, then what? We believe in it, accept it, and hold it to be the truth.
the Qur'an is proof, either for you or against you
