I performed Hajj and I had a debt, so I paid it off after Hajj. Is the Hajj valid?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : This listener, Abdullah Sa'id from Yemen, says: I performed Hajj and I had a debt, so I paid it off after Hajj. Is this Hajj valid?

The Shaykh : Yes, the Hajj is valid and accepted, if Allah wills, and your obligation is discharged by it, but this is from the grace and facilitation of Allah.

The questioner : Praise be to Allah.

The Shaykh : When a person has a debt, he must pay the debt before performing Hajj, because the debt takes precedence, and because Hajj is only obligatory upon the one who is able. If a person has a debt and has no money except the amount of the debt he owes, then he is not able to perform Hajj. But if he goes against this and performs Hajj, his Hajj is valid. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
