What is the ruling on praying in a garment that has impurity in it, while forgetting it?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says:The questioner : What is the action of a student of knowledge regarding some religious innovations?

The Shaykh : And here is another question from me: if I prayed in a garment that had impurity in it, while forgetting it, is it obligatory for you to repeat the prayer?
No, it is not obligatory for you to repeat the prayer, because Allah says:
Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. ربنا لا تؤاخذنا إن نسينا أو أخطانا
[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
. Now, if you prayed without ablution, while forgetting it, do you have to repeat it?
The answer is: Yes, because ablution is a condition for the validity of the prayer, without doubt. But my intention is that ablution is commanded, so if you forgot it, you have left behind what was commanded. Leaving behind what is commanded is not excused by forgetfulness; only its sin is excused. As for its ruling, it is not excused. For this reason, when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) finished two rak'ahs of prayer, while forgetting, did he complete the prayer or did he stop at two? He completed it. He completed it. But avoiding impurity, meaning washing the garment from impurity, is not from the category of doing what is commanded, but from the category of avoiding what is prohibited. Avoiding what is prohibited is obligatory with knowledge and remembrance, but if you forgot it, you owe nothing. Yes.
