A word from the Shaykh regarding what is happening in Chechnya.

The Shaykh : O my brothers, something has happened in these weeks, and it is a great event: the aggression of the aggressive, oppressive, atheist Russians against our brothers in Chechnya, the newly established Islamic republic, which the Muslims rejoiced in seeing liberated from Soviet slavery. But the Russians, who are the enemies of Allah and His Messenger, and the Jews and Christians who support them—who rejoice in the defeat of Islam and Muslims in Europe and elsewhere—have spared no effort in destroying Islam, either through wars of military weapons or through wars of intellectual and moral weapons. My brothers, they are working earnestly with all the power they have, with cunning and treachery, and with violence and harshness, to destroy Islam. We ask Allah, Mighty and Majestic, to turn their plots back upon their own necks, and to make them taste His wrath which is not averted from the criminal people.
Your brothers in Chechnya today are in severe distress militarily. The planes are bombing their cities, and the Russian soldiers are wreaking havoc among them. Perhaps they are leading the girls to immorality and the young men to death and graves. It is a great trial, a major setback if Allah were to decree that these Russians should prevail. But we ask Allah the Exalted to defeat them, to turn their strength into weakness, their honor into disgrace, and their wealth into poverty, and to send upon them one who will defeat them by His grace and generosity. What is required of you today is to call upon Allah for them, that is, for your Chechen brothers, in every place of response, in every state of response, and at every time of response. Seek out the times of response, the places of response, and the states of response. Call upon Allah for your Chechen brothers that He may grant them victory, that He may return those who fled from them to their land, and that He may defeat their Russian enemies and the Jews and Christians in Europe and elsewhere who support them. Call upon Allah, for Allah the Exalted is the Hearer of supplication, and Allah the Exalted says:[Al-Baqarah 2:186].
Imagine your brothers: the woman carrying her infant and leading her small child, the old man walking with his cane not knowing where to go, the young man fallen into great bewilderment. Imagine this while they are facing the harsh winter and the accumulated snow. Then picture yourselves in their position; what would your state be?
O people, we are now, praise be to Allah, in comfort, blessing, warmth, and coolness. We are safe, and we have, praise be to Allah, every blessing. But the believer imagines himself to be like his brothers who have been attacked by these tyrants.
O my brothers, call upon Allah for them in the state of prostration in all prayers. Call upon Allah for them at the end of the night, for Allah descends to the lowest heaven and says: Who calls upon Me that I may respond to him? Who asks Me that I may give him? Who seeks My forgiveness that I may forgive him? Call upon Allah the Exalted for them, that is, for your Chechen brothers, between the adhan and the iqamah, for supplication between the adhan and the iqamah is likely not to be rejected, as stated in the hadith. And the closest a servant is to his Lord is when he is prostrating, so increase in supplication therein, for it is likely that it will be answered for you. Do not forget your brothers, do not forget your brothers, do not forget your brothers. Share in their pains and their hopes. Know that Allah is capable of all things. Let not the strength of the Russians deceive you into despairing of the mercy of Allah, for Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, is stronger than they are. When they became arrogant on earth and said, "Who is stronger than we in power?" Allah, the Exalted, said:[Fussilat 41:15] O Allah, we ask You in this position of ours, while we are awaiting an obligation from Your obligations, that You grant victory to our Chechen brothers and preserve them in their freedom in their religion. And we ask You, O Allah, to defeat the Russians and turn them back on their heels in disappointment. O Allah, defeat them and turn them back on their heels in disappointment. O Allah, replace their honor with humiliation, their strength with weakness, their wealth with poverty, and their apparent unity with division and fragmentation, for You are capable of all things. O Allah, do this to those who support them from the Western countries, the Jews and Christians and others, O Lord of the worlds, for You are capable of all things. O Allah, we make You a barrier against them and we seek refuge in You from their evils. O Allah, send down upon them Your wrath which is not averted from the criminal people. O Allah, please our eyes with their defeat, their humiliation, their weakness, their poverty, and their fragmentation, O Lord of the worlds. O Allah, please our eyes with the victory of our Muslim brothers in Chechnya and in every land of the lands of the Muslims, for You are capable of all things. And all praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.
