What is the ruling on spilled blood if it hits the garment? And is there a difference between a small amount and a large amount?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Noble Shaykh, what is the ruling on spilled blood if it hits the garment?
And is there a difference between a small amount and a large amount?

The Shaykh : Yes, spilled blood is ritually impure, based on the saying of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He):
Say, "I do not find within that which was revealed to me [anything] forbidden to one who would eat it unless it be a dead animal or blood spilled out or the flesh of swine - for قل لا أجد فيما أوحي إليّ محرمًا على طاعم يطعمه إلا أن يكون ميتة أو دماً مسفوحاً أو لحم خنزير فإنه
[Al-An'am 6:145]
meaning: the mentioned
defilement رجس
meaning: ritually impure.
The scholars said: A small amount is excused, due to the difficulty of guarding against it, because it is rare for a person to slaughter an animal without some of it reaching him. So they excused the small amount (may Allah have mercy on them). But what is the small amount?
Is the small amount what a person considers small himself, or what the general public considers small?
The answer is: what the general public considers small. Because if we made it depend on what each person considers small himself, the person with obsessive doubts would consider the small amount to be large, and the negligent person would consider the large amount to be small. Therefore, we say: the standard is the middle ground of people. As for estimating it as a quarter of a dirham or something similar, it has no place in consideration, because these estimates must have evidence.
