Ruling on praying in a garment with blood on it

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q58: The questioner asks: Is it permissible for a person to pray in a garment that has a small amount of blood from a pure animal?
A58: If a person prays in a garment that has a small amount of blood from an animal that is pure in life, there is nothing wrong with that. However, if the blood is a large amount and he sees it during the prayer, his prayer is invalid because this blood is ritually impure if it is a large amount. He must go out, wash his garment, and pray. As for if he did not know about it until after the prayer, his prayer is valid, whether the blood was from an animal or from his own body. If it was
from his own body, or from blood that flowed out from a slaughtered animal at the time of slaughter, from an edible animal, or from what remains in the edible meat, this is pure. However, if it is blood that has flowed out, or came out from the human body itself, or from an animal whose meat is not edible, this is ritually impure if it is a large amount. As for blood coming out of him, if the blood is a small amount, it does not invalidate the ablution. If it is a large amount, the safest course is to repeat the prayer, because a group of scholars hold that the flow of a large amount of blood from a person invalidates his ablution. Therefore, repeating the prayer is safer for him, in order to avoid the scholarly disagreement. And Allah knows best.
