If the one who joins the prayer late stands up after his imam has concluded the prayer, does he raise his hands when he stands up for the remainder of his prayer?

The questioner : If you stand up to make up a missed portion of the prayer, do you raise your hands as you do for the opening takbir?

The Shaykh : If the one who joins the prayer late stands up after his imam has concluded the prayer, I am not aware of any recommended practice (sunnah) regarding this. However, based on the fact that the hands are raised when standing up for the first tashahhud, this is similar to that.
