Can the attribute of mockery be attributed to Allah in His saying, “And give glad tidings to the hypocrites”?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you, Shaykh. Can the attribute of mockery be attributed to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, in the saying of Allah, the Exalted:
And give glad tidings to the hypocritesوبشر المنافقين
?
The Shaykh : No. If we say that the meaning of “give glad tidings” in this context is something unpleasant, then the Arabic language indicates that the intended meaning is mockery of them. If the Messenger were to give them this “glad tidings,” it would not be a glad tidings that pleases them, but rather a mockery of them.

The questioner : And Allah, the Exalted, has mentioned mockery of the disbelievers frequently in the Qur’an. So what is the implication of the attribute?
The Shaykh : The implication of the Arabic language is that this is a type of mockery, so Allah mocks them.
