Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: ((They are deaf, dumb, and blind, so they will not return))

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Deaf, dumb and blind - so they will not return [to the right path]. صم بكم عمي فهم لا يرجعون
[Al-Baqarah 2:18]
I seek refuge in Allah. This is their state; that is, after mentioning the parable, He mentioned their state.
Deafصم
Deaf to hearing the truth,
Dumbبكم
dumb to speaking the truth,
Blindعمي
blind to seeing the truth. So, may Allah protect us, the doors have been blocked against them from every side. They do not hear the truth, and even if they did hear it, they would not benefit from it. The second:
Dumbبكم
They do not speak it, because they speak falsehood.
And when they meet those who believe, they say, "We believe"; but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say, "Indeed, we are with you; we were only mockers." وإذا لقوا الذين آمنوا قالوا آمنا وإذا خلوا إلى شياطينهم قالوا إنا معكم إنما نحن مستهزئون
[Al-Baqarah 2:14]
And they never speak the truth; even if they did speak it, it would be only with their tongues. The third, O Taha, what is the third? No, no, be patient. The man is wandering off. Where to? The student: A headache...The Shaykh : A headache? May Allah keep you safe from harm. If we ask Allah for your healing, and the brothers believe. Amen. Now,
Blindnessعمى
meaning, blind to the truth, they do not see it.
so they will not return [to the right path].فهم لا يرجعون
[Al-Baqarah 2:18]
So, based on these three descriptions, they do not return from what they were upon.
