Does a person who experiences a wet dream while in the state of ihram invalidate his Hajj?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : This questioner, Ahmad from Riyadh, asks: Does a person who experiences a wet dream while in the state of ihram invalidate his Hajj?

The Shaykh : If a person experiences a wet dream while in the state of ihram, his Hajj is not invalidated, because the pen is lifted from the sleeper. Similarly, if he experiences a wet dream while fasting, his fast is not invalidated. However, it is obligatory for the person in the state of ihram who experiences a wet dream to hasten to perform the full ritual bath before praying. It is not permissible for him to perform dry ablution with clean earth, unless he cannot find water. This is based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And if you are in a state of janabah, then purify yourselves. But if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women and do not find water, then seek clean earth
[Al-Ma'idah 5:6]
Thus, Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, has made the condition for dry ablution with clean earth that we do not find water.
Many people are negligent about performing the full ritual bath for major ritual impurity when they are traveling. You may find that a person is able to perform the full ritual bath, but he is shy to do so in front of people. This is an error. It is obligatory for a person to perform the full ritual bath as long as he has found water. There is no harm in using it, and there is no harm for him in performing the full ritual bath for a wet dream, because this happens to all people. Even if, hypothetically, it did not happen—and this is a hypothetical matter, not a reality—Allah is not shy of the truth. So a person should take water with him, move away from people’s sight, and perform the full ritual bath. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
