Question:
Also, the sender from Riyadh says: If a person sleeps in Mina and water becomes obligatory for him for the ghusl, but due to the large number of pilgrims, water is scarce, what should he do in place of water? And how should he act if he wishes to pray while in a state of major ritual impurity, and how does he purify himself and perform tayammum to complete the prayer if it is established that he can purify himself with earth?
I hope you will clarify this issue; because many people fall into such situations, and we offer you our sincere thanks.
Answer:
If a person experiences a wet dream in Muzdalifah, or in any place where people are gathered with people; he should seek water if he experiences a wet dream, meaning: he saw water, he saw semen in his sleep, this is the wet dream, meaning: he saw that he had intercourse with a woman, or he stood up and woke up and saw that semen had come out of his penis onto his thighs in his underwear, then the ghusl of janabah is obligatory upon him, so he must seek water, ask for water, even by purchasing it in any place he can, on the outskirts of Mina, in any direction, or he finds a place to take a ghusl for nothing; that is obligatory upon him. If it does not become easy for him, neither by price nor by donation, and he finds no place to take a ghusl; then he performs tayammum with earth and prays. He strikes the earth with his hands and wipes his face and his hands with them, with the intention of janabah, and the intention of the minor ritual impurity, meaning: he intends with the tayammum both impurities: the minor impurity that obligates wudu, and the major impurity that obligates the ghusl of janabah. He intends both, and that he is performing tayammum until he prays. That suffices him and he prays, and his prayer is valid, and praise be to Allah [Al-Taghabun:16] And Allah says: [Al-Ma'idah:6] But he must strive and not be lax. He should strive and ask. If he finds water, even by purchasing it, he takes the water in a container or the like, and he moves away from the people, somewhat, or he seeks a tent if there is a tent, and it is empty of people, or in a place far from the eyes of people and he takes a ghusl. Yes.
Question: But if it becomes difficult, for example?
Answer: If it becomes difficult, he performs tayammum.
The presenter: He performs tayammum.
The Shaykh: Yes, and praise be to Allah.
