What is the ruling on performing tayammum (dry ablution with clean earth) if one knows that water will be available before the time expires?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes?

The questioner : Is it permissible for us to perform tayammum (dry ablution with clean earth) merely because water is missing, knowing that we will find it before the time ends?

The Shaykh : Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said:
O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles. And if you are in a state of janabah, then purify yourselves. But if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women and do not find water, then seek
[Al-Ma'idah 5:6]
: He commanded us to perform wudu' (the ablution for prayer) for minor ritual impurity and to purify ourselves from major ritual impurity when we stand for prayer. If we do not find water, we perform tayammum (dry ablution with clean earth). It is permissible for one who does not have water when the time for prayer enters to perform tayammum (dry ablution with clean earth). However, the scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) said: "If it is likely in his opinion that he will find water before the time expires, it is better to delay the tayammum (dry ablution with clean earth) until he reaches the water".
