Is the result of istikharah a psychological feeling of desire for that matter, or what?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

The Shaykh : O Shaykh Abdullah, do not climb over walls.

The questioner : Did you hear?

The Shaykh : Do not climb over the wall, and enter the houses from their doors.

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : It will come, if Allah wills, it will come; there is still more than a quarter of an hour left.

The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Shaykh, may Allah bless you: Regarding the prayer of istikharah, if a person wants to seek Allah's guidance in a matter, he prays the prayer of istikharah and then makes a supplication afterwards. As for the result of this istikharah, is it a psychological result, meaning: a psychological feeling of desire for this matter, or is his reliance on Allah in this istikharah, and he sees what Allah sees as good in it?

The Shaykh : First: The prayer of istikharah is not performed except in matters in which a person hesitates. As for what he has resolved upon, there is no need for istikharah, because he has resolved, and this resolution is from Allah, He the Exalted, who decreed it. But if he hesitates, he prays the istikharah. Then, if the preponderance of something becomes clear to him, he acts upon it. And if it does not become clear, he repeats the istikharah a second time.

The questioner : A psychological feeling?

The Shaykh : A psychological feeling. And a person may see a dream that leads him to this or that. And sometimes he may hesitate, then Allah decrees the matter in a sudden manner. Here we say: Allah the Exalted did not decree it in a sudden manner, and you have sought His guidance, Blessed and Exalted is He, except that it is good for you.
