Is it permissible to describe Allah with the attribute of patience?

The questioner : Shaykh, may Allah forgive you: Is Allah (Mighty and Majestic) described as patient? For example, one might say: The Jews did such and such, so Allah was patient with them?

The Shaykh : He is described as being patient, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): However, He is not named by that, so it is not said, for example, that "The Patient" is among His names, because the domain of reporting is broader than the domain of creation.
